Sharing

The best part of weaving is giving what I've done to someone who enjoys it!
I gave these to my brother and he displayed them in his Lodge!

Difficult

I'm very grateful that I was taught the Saori method of weaving before I attempted pattern ('traditional') weaving of any kind.  It's hard for me to do anything 'imperfectly' -so it's hard for me to go through the process of learning.  Most things I've tried I've quit.  Sad but true.  I'm going to stick with this -not so that I can become perfect at it -but so that I can learn to do something just because I enjoy it.

Peacock Feathers!

I wove these feathers right into the cloth.
They wrapped around the beam just fine!

A friend thought it was a scarf
(because that's all I've made to date...)
She wondered how it is worn!
But no... it's a wall hanging!

Noro Lace Weight for Weft and Warp. JUST. DON'T. DO IT.

Gave Noro lace weight a try.

Used it for weft and warp...

Good for weft -not for warp.  Too delicate.
I finished it though
-thought it would be a good learning experience.
I learned that some learning experiences
are not good for my soul.

Mardi Gras baby!

At Mardi Gras the traditional 'King Cake' has a plastic baby inside.  The person who gets the slice of king cake with the baby has to bring the next king cake to share.  King Cakes are covered with yellow and green and purple sugars -the colors of Mardi Gras.  This is Mary!  She looks like a King Cake -which is perfect (because she has a baby inside... can you tell?!!!)  -postscript: I wove the scarf!

East Coast kiddos

Ali and Elliott
-my east coast kids!
Ali's wearing the pick scarf I used as a backdrop for this blog.
Guess I'll have to make one for Elliott -not pink though!
